Kia ora, kō Sophie Taku ingoa - kaitiaki pukapuka at Holy Cross School.
I love my role here, in particular seeing the faces of our ākonga light up as we go on journeys of imagination when reading in our beautiful whare pukapuka.
We have plenty of fantastic books in our library, including a wonderful māori and pasifika collection, and we are building up books about other cultures within our diverse community.
I love the growing list of amazing Aotearoa authors and illustrators - my favourites are Joy Cowley, Gavin Bishop and Selina Tusitala-Marsh. I'm excited to see the writers / artists from this school on that list in the future!
Outside of this role I'm a piano and singing teacher and mother of 2 older boys, and some of my other interests are sea swimming, dancing, absorbing and playing all kinds of music and of course reading!
