General Information



Cell Phones

Cell phones are not to be used by students during the school day. If a cell phone is brought to school the student must give it to his/her class teacher. It will be returned at the end of the day. If a phone is not handed in, or is used in an inappropriate manner, it will be confiscated for a period of time- depending on the severity of the misdemeanour.

Dental

Children attend the Dental Clinic at Miramar Central School. Parents are welcome to contact the Dental Nurse, regarding dental care and treatment. Ph: 388-8767

Health

Our school’s Public Health Nurse Tracey Hilt generally visits the school every Monday. She is available to discuss health queries, help access medical support and provide general health information.  If there is something you would like to discuss with the nurse contact the school office and we will pass your details on to her.

Swimming

Swimming lessons are taught at the Kilbirnie Aquatic Centre during the year. A separate notice providing further details and pricing will be sent home well in advance.

Technology

Technology is provided for Years 7 and 8 at Mt. Cook School, currently on Tuesday afternoons.

Damage to School Property

If a pupil damages school property and there is an element of carelessness or disregard for school rules, he/she is expected to pay for all or part of the repairs involved.  This applies particularly to windows. Where damage is accidental no payment is required.
